The June 1st Girls on the Run Frederick County Spring 5K will be headquartered at Frederick County’s Middletown Park, Middletown, MD. The run will be entirely on hard surfaces this year, so no more hybrid cross-country/road course! The course for this untimed, non-competitive run winds through the residential neighborhoods adjacent to the park, finishing next to the pond.

Community members are highly encouraged to participate in this wonderful and inspiring event, where nearly 300 3rd through 8th-graders will be sharing their infectious smiles as they complete their celebratory, end of season 5k.  The run isn’t timed and there are no awards, but you’ll get a great tech shirt, entertainment, and be inspired by the infectious spirit of our GOTR Girls!

Info about Girls on the Run: At Girls on the Run we inspire girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind. Trained coaches lead small teams through our research-based curricula which includes dynamic discussions, activities and running games. Over the course of the ten-week program, girls in 3rd-8th grade develop essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness. The program culminates with girls positively impacting their communities through a service project and being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K event.
